I’m cheating with this canapé a bit as it isn’t 100% vegan so doesn’t quite fit in with the advent plant based canapé theme for but you could swap the halloumi for firm tofu if you prefer.
Again this is really simple to make and most can be prepared well in advance so all you need to do is pop them in the oven a few minutes before your guests arrive.
Serves: 5-6 as a starter or 25 canapés.
5 a day: 1 per 5 skewers.
Time: 3o mins
- 2 sweet red pepper
- 2 green pepper
- 1 red onion
- 225g halloumi
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1/4 tsp sweet paprika
- 24 skewers
Cut the halloumi in to 24 equal portions
Repeat with the peppers and onions.
In a mixing bowl combine the peppers, halloumi, olive oil and paprika and season with pepper and salt.
Divide the mix between the skewers.
You can now cover and refrigerate until needed.
Heat the oven to 180 c.
Cook the skewers for 10-15 minutes.
